Lion Love Poem

Once a coalition
Then once I was just one.
Now I abide in pride with love,
With my lioness beneath the sun.

Before you, I only feigned sane,
Pretending to have all the answers—
With an unkept mane, a loveless brain,
I was rather scattered.
Honestly, I was knackered
Before life answered
With you.

Lions tend to end at sixteen, latest—
We met first at the end of that life,
Though our energy was far from faded;
Rather quite bright, like a supernova,
Like exploding stars—
But thankfully we were only pseudo-over.

We met again in another incarnation,
Perhaps only one of countless occasions,
In which we reunite in different lives,
In different lights, with different minds.
If that’s how the wheel of time tends to turn,
I wouldn’t mind.
