Yes! Acceptance is key. I have a little pocket size moleskin journal where I write down my insights… thoughts or realisations that feel like the key.
I have repeated the same ideas over and over in it
Accept life. Resistance to what is is the source of suffering.,
Surrender. Let go, live in total detachment. Clinging to outcomes sucks. Dont define your okayness based on external situations. Surrender fully into the present moment. Let go.,
Rest. Your main job, almost your only job, is to keep the monkey happy and well. Keep it rested.
If the monkey is good, you are good. If the monkey is well rested and happy, the monkey does good things, the monkey evolves. Your only job, as the thinker, or the doer, is the figure out how to live in a way that keeeps the monkey in an optimal physiological state. Good sleep, good diet, enough exercise, sunlight, and air. Nap if tired midday. Lie down if you need. ETC.
Make your priority making your monkey well rested. Not agitated. At ease. All else will follow,.. Seek ye first the kingdom of heavan and all else will be added unto you. Bryan Johnson comes to mind, ignoring his fixation with immorality, his priority with sleep and diet and so forth resonates with me a lot. The biggest obstacle to keeping the monkey in a good state physically is restlessness, compulsiveness, and addictive automatic behaviour.
If you feel off, and instead of resting and realiging, you try escape the feeling of offness with activity, with stimulation, with distraction, then the issue that was causing the feeling of off-ness gets worsened, the debt builds, but you numb it, because stimulation/entertainment/pleasure actually numbs the discomfort. If you close your eyes and there is an underlying anxiety or dis-ease, then tend to that. Body scan. Loving kindness meditation. Sleep. Walk. Whatever… You shouldnt interact with the physical world in a state of lack, always act in a state of fullness and wellness,
