When I was on a walk I had the realisation that I should do certain things more. I would like to embody meditation fully and then teach it and create sangha (community) around it.
Meditation and yoga is so beautiful because everyone can do it. Everyone can gather around that fire. It isn’t limiting at all. Any age range.
Remember the Three Jewels of Buddhism…
- The Buddha (the teacher / the ideal of enlightenment)
- The Dharma (the teaching, or the truth/path)
- The Sangha (the community that practices the path together)
“It is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a sangha.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Achieving peace is easier in isolation. Doing it in the context of others, who push our buttons, is key. Ram Dass used to idealise the concept of hiding in a room and doing his practice, but Mharajji kept sending people to him, kept pushing him into others. Others trigger our ego, which helps highlight what we have to bring consciousness into.
Some other insights on the walk was that I need to hike more. Climb mountains and stuff. Move while outside. Do the jack and jill in silence. Walk 14k steps per day again. Go for morning walks to soccer pitch again. That was very therapeutic. Also just keep the heart open. That is key. Wake up, meditate, read, journal. Walk. Get that morning practice alive again. Gotta get the sleep schedule dialed back….
Cannabis can be beautiful. The last few days were pure stress and sleep deprivation. The smoke this evening was so therapeutic. It allowed me to relax deeply, let things go, be present and enjoy and appreciate what was in front of me. CBD is key. I wish everyone who used cannabis took a strong dose of CBD with the THC every time.
